Barb Korosec, Executive Coach

Location: New York

Barb guides those in key passages of their lives – be they personal or professional. She loves to work with passionate and motivated people keen on making the transformational changes necessary to reach their goals.  Her coaching is marked by laser-sharp clarity, down-to-earth wisdom, and a hint of playfulness.  Drawing from an eclectic range of professional and leadership experiences, Barb has finely tuned intuition that is both knowing and spacious.

In particular, Barb enjoys coaching leaders on their “inner game,” the foundation of executive presence.  This is the internal operating system that drives the leader, how they define themselves, and the core set of beliefs from which they lead.  She has primarily worked with senior directors and vice presidents to hone their inner game, and show up more confidently with wisdom, confidence, and gravitas.  Her clients are from a wide spectrum of industries and assignments, including aerospace and defense, retail, service, education, international, and small start-ups.

Drawing from her naval service, leadership programs management, and human development experiences, Barb understands the complex issues and pressures leaders face.   Previously, Barb held several positions at Northrop Grumman Corporation, where she was very instrumental in developing leaders, leadership programs, and integrated succession planning and performance management.   Trained as a Six Sigma Black Belt, Barb frequently assisted senior leaders with their organization and team development.   She offered leaders and their teams a blend of process and business knowledge, an understanding of team dynamics, and engaging facilitation to create the outcomes they seek.  She additionally served as an internal coach for up-and-coming vice presidents.

While at Northrop Grumman Barb led a multi-year program to implement, and then upgrade, a common learning management system across a corporation of 120,000 employees and seven business sectors. This large-scale change effort required extensive influential leadership across organizational boundaries and working through more than 125 team members.

Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Barb was a naval officer, serving in a variety of line and staff assignments.  She led a division of 100 computer technicians that were responsible for highly sophisticated flight simulators, served as a leadership programs instructor and course coordinator at the United States Naval Academy, served as the deputy of a 150-person recruiting district, managed a $400 million joint exercise program for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and served in strategic human resource planning assignments on the Navy staff.

Barb holds a variety of degrees and credentials in coaching, assessments, and team dynamics.  Most recently, Barb became certified as an Equine Assisted Coach, specializing in the integration of traditional coaching with ground-based activities with horses.  Horses are superbly equipped with the ability to provide non-judgmental feedback on leadership effectiveness, making them superb learning partners for clients who choose this option.  An avid learner, Barb is currently enrolled in a program of study about the application of neuroscience to coaching.  Barb is also a trainer for The Bigger Game, ® a model for innovation and growth in individuals and organizations.
